Christmas Eve's dinner!

My family, when I was growing up, didn't have a lot of extra money for expensive presents so most of our anticipation for Christmas was the food and the smells and having Grandma sleep over. Of course I try and pass this rich tradition of family to our children. So here are some of our traditions, in the food arena that we look forward to making as a family each year.

The turkey! Looks weird I know. I let the turkey thaw in the sink with a lot of salt in the water over night. Doing this makes your turkey moist, Yummy! The turkey! Looks weird I know. 1. yummy, yummy yummy! Sadly we didn't plan anything cool like this for our Christmas dinner or Christmas Eve dinner since I thought we'd be going over to G&G Earl's house. Since everyone was sick we stayed home and I made Jambalaya Christmas Eve and Pad Thai Noodles and Pot Stickers for Christmas--not anything I want to begin an annual tradition of--just stuff I had in my fridge. Next year we'll have to do something like this!
